Give the Gift of Life - Donate Blood
We all expect blood to be there for us when we need it -- but barely
a fraction of people who can
give blood actually do. Sooner or later, virtually all of us will face
a time when we will need blood. And that time is often unexpected.
A history of helping friends and neighbors
From its beginning, the American Red Cross has formed a community of service among generous, strong and decent people bound by beliefs beyond themselves. The honor, spirit and resources of the American people comes forth with neighbors helping neighbors during times of need. That includes donating blood during disasters like earthquakes, floods, fires, and tornadoes.However, many times the need for blood comes from smaller, more personal emergencies that don't hit the headlines or make the evening news. Those "quiet disasters" still require a steady supply of donated blood.

To be eligible to donate blood you must be 17 years old or older (16 with parent's permission), weigh 110 pounds or more, and feel well the day of the blood drive. |
