Bloomfield’s Family Restaurant in Marshall to Donate 10%
of March 12 Proceeds to the American Red Cross Mid-Missouri Chapter

March 10, 2008 – Bloomfield’s Family Restaurant in Marshall will be donating 10 percent of the restaurant’s sales on Wednesday, March 12, to the American Red Cross Mid-Missouri Chapter – which serves Marshall and the surrounding area.

It’s part of the “Red Cross Day of Giving” fundraising event held in conjunction with National Red Cross Month in March. The Mid-Missouri Chapter serves the Marshall area, as well as Saline County and six other counties in Mid-Missouri.

National Red Cross Month is also a time when Mid-Missourians and all Americans are encouraged to take steps to prepare for emergencies, to take CPR and first aid training, to volunteer their time, to give blood and to financially support the programs and services of the American Red Cross.

“We sincerely appreciate the support of Bloomfield’s, and the involvement of Larry and his staff,” said Mike Odneal, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Mid-Missouri Chapter. “Larry has been very warm and welcoming to the Red Cross, and has pledged his continuing support of Red Cross activities and services in the area.”

“It’s our hope that lots of people in Marshall and the surrounding area will come out to Bloomfield’s on March 12 to have a great meal – and support the Red Cross at the same time,” said Larry Salim, owner and general manager of Bloomfield’s. “The more people that come to eat at our restaurant that day, the more that we’ll be able to donate to the Red Cross chapter that specifically serves our area.”

Bloomfield’s Family Restaurant is located at 1335 W. Vest Drive in Marshall, just west of Highway 65. For additional information about the American Red Cross Mid-Missouri Chapter, please visit www.redcross-midmo.org or call (573) 445-9411 or toll-free (800) 359-8829.

The Mid-Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross serves the residents of 7 Mid-Missouri counties: Boone, Carroll, Chariton, Cooper, Howard, Randolph and Saline.

The American Red Cross helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Last year, almost a million volunteers and 35,000 employees helped victims of almost 75,000 disasters; taught lifesaving skills to millions; and helped U.S. service members separated from their families stay connected. Almost 4 million people gave blood through the Red Cross, the largest supplier of blood and blood products in the United States. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it relies on donations of time, money, and blood to do its work.
