 Culver’s® of Columbia Donates “Day of Giving” Proceeds to American Red Cross Mid-Missouri Chapter (May 14, 2008) -- Columbia business owners Shaun and Olga Morris, local franchise owners of Culvers Restaurant in Columbia, donated $800 last week to the Mid-Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross. The donation was a result of the restaurant’s “Red Cross Day of Giving” on March 5, in conjunction with National Red Cross Month. Culvers donated a percentage of the day’s net sales. Employees also decorated the restaurant in a Red Cross theme, and posted hundreds of “donation appreciation” squares from restaurant patrons who contributed at the restaurant that day. An information booth from the Mid-Missouri Chapter was on-site to make information available to restaurant visitors, and chapter staff members were on hand to answer any questions. The Red Cross Bloodmobile was also on-site at the restaurant’s parking lot, making it convenient for Culvers employees and restaurant patrons to give blood that day. “We were able to make this donation thanks to the many generous Culvers customers who came by the restaurant that day,” said Olga Morris, Co-owner and Manager. “People bought a lot of Butterburgers and frozen custard – all for the benefit of our Mid-Missouri Red Cross chapter and the wide variety of assistance that it provides” “The owners and employees at Culver’s continue to be wonderful supporters of our local Red Cross,” said Mike Odneal, Executive Director of the Mid-Missouri Chapter. “Our community is very lucky to have great civic-minded businesspeople and local franchise owners like the Morris’s at Culvers.” Culvers of Columbia is located at 2520 Broadway Bluffs Drive in Columbia.
